I dont get down to many games as I am involved in football at a higher level but what I witnessed on Monday was so poor it was frightening!! The club has really slipped down on the field in my book. Mondays game was one of the worst I have seen for a long long time - zero football was played, 2 'long ball' teams hoofing the ball back and too, and was it just me or did the ball sound flat as a pancake also??
I dont know who you have in charge their but it seemed very amateur - from his boots that have never looked like they have been cleaned to his laughable performance on the sideline. You should record him and sell DVDs - you would make a fortune!
There are only 3 possibly 4 decent players in the side, the rest are poor at best. If this club wants to challenge and look to go higher and be successful you need a major clear out and someone in who can attract the best local players, playing an attractive brand of football that will bring in large gates. The Boxing day fixture should bring in a bumper crowd, no-one is interested in coming to the ground and after mondays shocking game I am not suprised!!
Congleton Town should look at Nantwich and see how the right infrastructure and playing staff can bring quick and sustainable success, not mediocre sunday league level games with Coco the Clown on the side lines

The club has certainly slipped on the pitch this season, because of the previous managers inept tactics and player purchases. It would be very harsh to slam the new local manger, in my eyes he has inherited the rubbish left behind. We do need a clear out, this should be done at the end of the season and allow the new manager to bring in his players, then we can judge him next season. I don't know why you are slamming the state of his boots, suprisingly football boots get muddy Maybe you want a red carpet on the pitch instad? With the attractive football comment, we have tried it with the previous manager, it failed and it's hardly surprising. Backwards, sidewards football is boring and won't work at this level. Direct football is so much more effective and that's proper football in my eyes. Bring back the days of Buckle and Twiggs tactics of directly playing the ball up to a big man. This combination saw us become one of the most feared to teams in the division and goals were flying in.

Wow, how far into the dark ages do you dwell in? Hit the big man!! haha, you will be thinking the players should have a f*g and a brew for a warm up next.
The comment about the boots is based on he looked nothing like a top level coach and from the garbage he was spewing from the dugout was laughable! It was embarrassing at times.
And the comment on hes stuck with the last managers players is more garbage!! Why cant he bring in some decent players? Maybe because he doesnt know any! Any other club, any other manager would bring in at least a couple of new players!
We need a big local name that will bring better players, more organisation and professionalism to the club - just because your a semi-pro club doesnt mean we have to have a semi-pro attitude.
There are plenty of excellent local coaches and managers that could revolutionise things and turn the clubs fortunes around

Direct football is in the modern era of football. That is a FACT and remains highly effective.
He probably can't bring in more players because of the budget available to him. The budget that is available is another argument.
Name a "big local name" that the club can afford?

Not sure who they can afford, I dont know the finance situation at the club.
But the rumours about Ross Speight and Phil Parkinson keep cropping up and I know the pair of them as they coach 2 of my kids at Vale Jnrs. They are at Lostock Gralam at the moment who are top of the Cheshire league, they have the likes of Mike Brandon and Mike Langley playing for them. Parkinson and Speight have plenty of Counties experience, Parkinson has won pretty much everything in non league football, Speight coaches at Pro level, they work on a shoe string budget at Lostock and they are successful. Why dont we look towards next season now and get them in for a big effort next season?
Or shall we just waste time with the mid table outfit we have now? Lets face it can anyone see us winning the league anytime soon with this lot?

May i suggest Bill56 that if you think you can do a better job, then do it! Or maybe instead of managing the club perhaps you'd like to clean his boots until they are to your satisfaction! ;D

I think the clean boots comment has gone completely gone over everyones head! There is an old saying 'If you want to play the part you have to look the part'! He doesnt look like a serious football coach, the easiest part is looking professional and he cant even get that right!
ME2 - If you had bothered to read my comments properly you would see that I have never said I would like to take on the job as I am with another club but I put forward 2 names that I know would turn this place round.
But I suppose that all depends on the club ambition.............
