No more news yet, but it's Atherton LR away next round - they beat Prescot Cables 1-0 at home.

Mark Beeston (56). Played very well considering injuries. Even Twigg came on. Good solid match, still not seen Baker have a good game, and would consider not starting Nesbit, he aint got the legs.
Good Match, Brilliant result, Excellent stadium.

Taken from Witton's website:
Witton Albion 0 Congleton Town 1
Saturday August 29th F.A Cup (sponsored by E-on) Preliminary Round
WITTON ALBION 0 CONGLETON TOWN 1 att. 194
TEAM: Joe Clegg; Dylan Adams, Paul Booth, Stuart Rudd, Neil Murphy; Jordan King (Steve Brodie 62), Dave Neville, Steve Hall (Callum Tai-Hogan 79), Phil Doran; Steve Foster & Mike Moseley. Sub n/u Andy Hadzik
A fairly brief - and I consider to the point - report after today’s debacle.
Watched by their lowest ever F.A. Cup home attendance Witton fairly whimpered their way throughout this encounter and the North West Counties outfit thoroughly enjoyed their victory, to book themselves a trip to league rivals Atherton L.R. in two weeks time. For Albion it was only the second time ever that they have exited the premier knock-out competition in the month of August (21/8/99 0-1 at North Ferriby)
Missing regulars Brian Pritchard, Brad Maylett and Peter Heler the home team seemed totally out of sorts throughout and their only real threat, on Matt Conkie’s goal, came 12 minutes after Town had taken the lead when Phil Doran’s fierce drive was parried by Conkie but Steve Foster’s follow up ended well over the target.
The all important goal came in the 56th minute when former Albion midfield player Ryan Baker sent in a cross cum shot from the right that, failed to be cleared, fell nicely into the path of the unmarked Mark Beeston who made no mistake from close range. For quite some time leading up to the goal the ball was there to be properly cleared but far too often ended up skied against the wind thus playing into the, up for it, predatory Bears’ well disciplined attacking formation.
Earlier Albion twice went close in a couple of minutes when firstly Jordan King, making his first appearance of the season, scuffed his shot past the right post following a dipping cross from Phil Doran. Nearer still was Dave Neville who on 20 minutes sent in a 25 yard effort that flew just over the cross-bar. The impressive Mark Fitton then produced two great challenges on Mike Moseley five minutes later.
Four minutes after the break Town had a great shout for a penalty after the ball had bounced up onto Doran’s arms as he attempted a clearance. Four minutes later a speculative high ball across the goal from Simon Robinson struck the angle with the back peddling Clegg also crashing against the woodwork as the ball drifted out for a goal-kick.
On 65 minutes a Doran free-kick aimed to the left post was headed over by Steve Hall before Albion’s best chance to salvage anything at all out of the cup-tie.
Conkie went down bravely at Paul Booth’s feet following a Doran flag kick. Callum Tai-Hogan’s introduction saw Stuart Rudd join the attack but his first effort was a gentle shot that Conkie easily held. Albion’s other substitute Steve Brodie just failed to make contact after playing a one-two with Foster whilst Doran drove his shot wide with five minutes remaining. Any much needed prize money now disappeared Albion must quickly re-focus as they entertain league leaders Leek Town on Bank Holiday Monday, who themselves will be smarting after also losing out at home, to Bedworth 2-3, this afternoon.

As a note...
Witton right back Dylan Adams, making his debut, to the point nobody from Witton actually knew him, looks like a tremendous talent, in my opinion , keeping his feet on the ground, he's a name to remember...

From The Sentinel (Monday 31 Aug 09)
CONGLETON TOWN: The Bears eased past UniBond Division One side Witton Albion courtesy of a strike from Mark Beeston.
Beeston over came a late fitness test after suffering a bruised ankle to take part in the game.
His goal came just before the hour mark. Former Albion player Ryan Baker sent in the cross which the Witton backline failed to clear and a grateful Beeston slammed the ball into the net.
Boss Anthony Buckle was quick to heap praise on his side.
"Everybody played well, it was a very pleasing game," he said.
"Considering we had a lot of injuries, we did very well."
And despite beating a side playing in a league above, Buckle was quick to dismiss any notion of the result being a shock.
He added: "All my players have played at a high level so this result didn't surprise me."
