What a gutting end to the game If someone offered me a draw at the start of the game, I would of taken it, but to be 2 goals up entering the final 10 minutes of the game only to draw 2-2, is gutting. Was Hurst's disallowed goal, a correct decision?

Was Hurst's disallowed goal, a correct decision? Firstly, my sentiments regarding the result are similar, I would have accepted a draw at the start of the game but to end 2-2 after leading 2-0 late into the game was a real blow and I suppose two points dropped. On the Hurst incident, Andy said he was a clear yard onside when the free-kick was taken. My perspective from behind the goal was similar, onside at the point that the free-kick was taken, but a yard clear by the time the ball came back off the goalkeeper. 9 times out of 10 you'd get that one allowed, so I think the assistant has made a mistake with that one. Can't comment on their last gasp equaliser, but again I'm told that Band wasn't 100% sure, but 'claimed for it'. I can only comment that the assistant was in a much better place to see than I. Our lads felt that the ball didn't fully cross the line, but it's one of those 'Luis Garcia' moments. I guess the team has to accept that what happened was all part of football and move on..New Mills looked a good side going forward and our defence was immense and didn't deserve to concede one, nevermind two. Even their first goal was scrappy with the ball ricocheting to Turner when the initial shot was blocked. In the end, two great goals from Scott Dundas, which were well constructed, were offset by one scrappy one and one controversial one. Ant says we're not firing on all cylinders yet, so we still have a lot to look forward to this season. On last night's performance (if not the result) we finally looked like title contenders.

Seemingly unfortunate then, regarding Hurst disallowed goal then. I also can't comment on New Mills second goal.
On the subject of our defence, what a brilliant player Richard Smith is. Although all of our defence were superb last night, Smith again was the stand out performer. The lad doesn't seem to put a foot wrong.
We have competed very well against one of the best sides in the league, if not the best. We also have Griggs and Beeston to come back into the team. This is encouraging in our bid to gain promotion.
